I recently spoke for the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce where I was asked (as I often am), “If I don’t have time for social media how can I capitalize on it? Do you have suggestions on how to minimize my efforts so I can be effective in my work?”

I have two answers (1) you can outsource it but that sort of defeats the purpose. The idea is you build relationships not just push agenda’s. Or, (2) try using Hootsuite or Ping.fm to pre-program your social media. It’s not as personal as real time but it’s better than not doing it at all. Set aside an hour on the weekend and pre-program some tweets, updates, and posts. See how you like the results.

Don’t forget to promote others articles and posts. No one likes to talk to someone who only talks about themselves!

Chris Brogan created a helpful video sharing how to use the Publisher feature on Hootsuite. Check out the link below to view.
